<image:caption>Chapman University’s Human Resources department has holds an annual Halloween pumpkin carving contest. Our team volunteers time and resources for this opportunity to build something together. We’ve won 6 of the contests since its beginning in 2010.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Office Culture - University Advancement Superhero Awards</image:title>
<image:caption>In 2013 I started a department tradition for a less formal, yet more epic awards program called the Superhero Awards. I’m fairly well-versed in comics and comic book movies. The Avengers had come out in 2012 and that gave me the template for award categories. As the years went by and as more characters were added to the MCU, more heroes (categories) were added. Winners are awarded a temporary trophy of a Pop-Cap glued to a sandwich Tupperware with their photo kept inside along past winners photos. This has been tradition ever since and the most attended optional event in our department of 100+ employees.</image:caption>

      <image:title>Office Culture - SMC Team Principles</image:title>
<image:caption>From an office retreat came these principles. In order to make these a staple and expectation of the team, these posters were made as reinforcement. I edited down some of the lengthy verbiage and built or downloaded stock graphics to complement these concepts. Since the budget for internal projects is not very extensive, I kept to 1-color printing.</image:caption>

<image:caption>I’m a huge Star Wars fan, and if I can bring people together with Star Wars, I do. Since 2015, I held an annual potluck in office, bring lightsabers and toy blasters for a group photo. This is an easy opportunity to break bread with teammates and not take ourselves too seriously, and talk Star Wars.</image:caption>

<image:caption>Star Wars Day (May 4) 2020 and 2021 were spent working remotely during that period. Usually I’d throw a department wide potluck, but instead I asked my teammates to send in photos of themselves and I’d add lightsaber FX to their photo submission.</image:caption>

Originally I created a version where a “C” forms the neck of a Panther to allude to Chapman. Once published and recorded and debuted with the NCAA, I received a “cease and desist” letter from Chatham University. Our logo came too close to theirs. I started over and what you see is the pain and sleeplessness in the eyes panther. Sometimes you see the artist in art.</image:caption>

In the Upside Down of the Byers living room stands the Demogorgon.
